Win a $2,000 first prize in the international competition for unpublished fiction manuscripts

The CRAFT First Chapters Contest invites entries of adult literary fiction in all genres.

The winner will receive $2,000 and a full manuscript critique of a novel manuscript up to 100,000 words. The second and third place runners up will receive $500 and $300. All three winning entries will be published in CRAFT with an author's note/craft essay. Winners and runners up will also be offered an agent query workshop with Beath Marshea of Ladderbird Literary Agency which will include feedback on the first 5,000 words, the summary and query letter.

To enter, send the first chapter or chapters, up to 5,000 words, of an unpublished novel or novella, either completed or in progress.

There is a $20 entry fee. All entrants will receive an exclusive digital compilation of winning and shortlisted excerpts and commentaries.

The closing date is 30 June.
