30 May will feature a programme of workshops, masterclasses and a virtual pub quiz

There are four online events: Prose Writing for Poets with Rachel Bower; Interactive Fiction with Krishan Coupland; Short Story masterclass: Using Folklore in Short Fiction with CG Menon and Virtual Pub Quiz with Joe Williams.

Festival director SJ Bradley said: 'In these uncertain times creativity is a beacon for hope, and we're overjoyed to welcome ticketholders from all over the world to explore the short story form. Led by prizewinning authors like Rachel Bower and Krishan Coupland, the Northern Short Story Festival offers an affordable opportunity for ticketholders to learn from the best in the field. We are thrilled to host these authors, and to welcome visitors old and new to our workshops and Pub Quiz, held in our virtual pub, the Farewellto Arms.'
