The winners of The Bookseller's annual book awards have been announced

The British Book Awards, aka the Nibbies, are run by The Bookseller to celebrate books and the people who create them. The 2022 Nibbies award winners are:

• Overall Book of the Year: You Are A Champion by Marcus Rashford with Carl Anka

• Author of the Year: Marian Keyes

• Illustrator of the Year: Dapo Adeola

• Book of the Year: Fiction: Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason

• Book of the Year: Pageturner: Small Pleasures by Clare Chambers

• Book of the Year: Crime and Thriller: The Dark Remains by William McIlvanney and Ian Rankin

• Book of the Year: Fiction debut: Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson

• Book of the Year: Non-fiction: Narrative: Empireland by Sathnam Sanghera

• Book of the Year: Non-fiction: Lifestyle: The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present, Paul McCartney

• Book of the Year: Discover: Keisha the Sket, Jade LB

• Book of the Year: Children's Illustrated: Hey You!, Dapo Adeola
