The £30,000 prize is the world's richest award for a single short story
Niamh's story Love Many was described by judge David Nicholls as 'an exquisite and touching love story.'
Dublin-based Niahm's debut novel This Happy was published in June. Her short fiction and essays have been published in magazines including 3:AM and The Dublin Review. She is the third Irish writer to win the award, after Danielle McLaughlin (2019) and Kevin Barry (2012).
