Supporting and developing new theatre writing is a key part of Alphabetti Theatre's mission. There are three different opportunities to submit new writing for the stage:
• Alphabetti Writeback is a regular script-in-hand performance night that offers opportunities for theatre writers and directors to collaborate on a new piece of theatre. Submissions are invited of new short plays involving no more than two actors and a minimal set. Send 15 pages of script.
• Alphabetti Soup is a regular mixed arts variety night featuring up to 12 short plays (no more than two actors, minimal set). Send an original script or a proposal for a new 15-minute play.
• Alphabetti Write Longer is a development opportunity for emerging and established writers. 3 to 4 writers each year are helped to develop scripts and provided with directors, rehearsal space and dramaturgical support. Send either a completed one-act play up to 75 minutes or work in progress and an outline of the finished play.
