Playwrights' Studio, Scotland has put out a call for submissions for its 2011/2012 Mentoring Programme. The deadline is 31 August.

In order to be considered, people submitting should be emerging playwrights living in Scotland, or from Scotland and living elsewhere, with a play that they hope to develop during the mentoring period. Submitting playwrights do not need to have been produced in order to qualify.

Playwrights wanting to be considered to be paired with a mentor should be available from September 2011 for a six-month period.

To apply for the scheme, please send a cover letter explaining why you would like to be mentored, two ten-page extracts of your writing, a synopsis of each work from which the extracts have come, current contact details and a brief biography detailing your writing experience to date. These should be emailed to [email protected] or posted to Playwrights' Studio, Sauchiehill Street, Glasgow G2 3JD.
