Amazon's latest model of Kindle goes on sale next Wednesday at £89
The new version of the Kindle has the same 6" screen size as the Kindle Keyboard (£109 and £149), but has an 18% smaller body and weighs less than 70 grammes, making it 30% lighter than the Keyboard models. It has a one-month battery life, is Wi-Fi-enabled and has a 2G capacity, meaning it can hold up to 1,400 ebooks, as opposed to the 4G Keyboard's 3,500. It is currently available for pre-order, with a on-sale date of 12 October.
Amazon unveiled Kindle Touch and Kindle Fire devices in the US at the same time that the new UK model was launched. The Kindle Fire is a brand new tablet device, which will launch in November and cost $199. The Touch model will also launch in November at $99 for the lowest-priced version.
Writing Magazine is running an exclusive competition to win a Kindle Keyboard with Wi-Fi+3G, worth £149. For a chance to win, all you have to do is go online at www.writers-online.co.uk/Win-Prizes/ and answer the question.
