The First Chapter Competition 2014 asks writers to complete a first chapter following an opening paragraph from Sarah Waters
The competition is for chapters of between 800 and 1,000 words that follow on from Sarah Waters' opening.
The winner will recieve £1,000 and the publication of their story in Grazia. The prize will be presented at the Bailey's Women's Prize for Fiction award ceremony on 4 June, and includes travel and hotel.
Writers entering the competition should be female and previously unpublished.
The closing date is 6 May.
