Hosted by A Firm of Poets' Matt Abbott and Ralph Dartford, Stand Up for Poetry will teach participants the performance skills to recite their poems in public
Participating poets should bring along a poem to read aloud in front of their fellow poets. Matt (pictured) and Ralph will teach microphone technique, presentation skills, timing and how to get the audience on your side.
Stand Up for Poetry will take place at 3pm in the Speigeltent, Harrogate on Thursday . Later in the evening, at 8pm, A Firm of Poets will be joined in the Speigeltent for an evening of poetry performance by Rommi Smith, with musical soundscapes from The Housekeeping Society.
Tickets for the workshop are free, but places should be booked in advance. There are two-for-one offers for the evening event. Please quote 241 when booking.
