The competition offers a prize of £1,500 for an essay or article on the history of food
The Sophie Coe Prize was founded in 1995 after the death of food historian Sophie Coe. It awards an annual prize for non-fiction writing on any aspect of the history of food.
Enter essays or articles that include new research or provide new insights. Essays and articles maybe any length between 2,500 and 10,000 words. Entries may have been published in the previous 12 months. A single winner will be awarded £1,500.
Entry is free. Each writer may enter one essay or article.
