The London Book Fair, which starts tomorrow, has a dedicated Author HQ programme of events for established and aspiring writers
Launched in response to interest from the self-publishing community, Author HQ has a three-day programme of seminars aimed at writers and delivered by leading industry professionals and bestselling KDP authors.
Seminar topics include:
• Introduction to publishing
• Know your rights - legal and contracts
• What we talk about when we discuss writing and reading in the digital era
• The principles of successful book and book cover design
• Genre spotlights: crime thrillers and contemporary fiction; non-fiction with Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst (pictured) discussing her autobiography, out in May
• Crowdfunding
• How to sell your book
• How I made it - living the dream, with CJ Lyons, Amanda Prowse, Helena Coggan
• Kobo Writing Life seminars for writers
• Successful social media strategy
• Effective PR and marketing
• Journalists – what are they looking for?
• The Write Stuff, a Dragon's Den-type panel event.
All Author HQ events are free to attend with the purchase of a three-day LBF pass.
