The Falconer Museum is inviting essays to celebrate its 150th anniversary

The Falconer Museum in Forres, north-east Scotland, is inviting entries of essays relating to the life of one of its founders, botanist, geologist and palaeontologist Hugh Falconer, or to the museum.

The winner will receive £150 and there are two further £50 prizes for runners up and a young person's prize of a £35 book token. All winning essays will be published online and may be included in a forthcoming anthology about Hugh Falconer.

Enter original, unpublished essays up to 3,000 words. Essays do not need to have scientific content.

Entry is free.

The closing date is 15 September 2022.
