There's a first prize of £500 for short fiction up to 4,000 words
The Writeidea Prize is a new national short story prize for short fiction of up to 4,000 words. It is run by the Writeidea Festival, which is east London’s free reading festival, taking place in Tower Hamlets between 14 and 16 November.
There is a first prize of £500, a Tower Hamlets prize of £500, and five finalists’ prizes of £100. All seven winners will be invited to read at the Writeidea festival with judge Alex Wheatle.
Stories for the competition may be in any genre and on any theme. All entries must be original and unpublished, and not entered in any other competition.
Tower Hamlets residents who are Idea Store members can enter for free, but must quote their Idea Store Card number with their entry. Other entrants must pay a fee of £5 per story, payable via Eventbrite.
