Submissions are invited for the £10,000 award for best original new theatre play
Run by Edinburgh University in association with Playwright's Studio, Scotland and the Traverse Theatre, the annual James Tait Black Prize for Drama is for plays written in English, Scottish or Gaelic. The prize is open to new work by playwrights at any stage in their career.
Extracts of shortlisted plays will be performed as rehearsed readings at Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre, supported by the National Theatre of Scotland.
Submissions for the 2016 James Tait Black Prize for Drama must be original and over 60 minutes in length, and must have had a full production by a professional company.
The closing date is 12 February.
