The six prestigious shortlists for crime writing were revealed at CrimeFest in Bristol on Friday

The six shortlisted Daggers were: The Dagger in the Library; The Gold Dagger for Non-Fiction; The Debut Dagger; The Ellis Peters Historical Dagger; The International Dagger for crime fiction in translation, and The Short Story Dagger.

The winners of each Dagger will be announced on 5 July, which is when the CWA will unveil the longlists for the Gold, Steel and John Creasey Daggers. At the same July ceremony, Frederick Forsyth (pictured) will be awarded the CWA Diamond Dagger.

Also at CrimeFest, the CWA launched Crime Month 2012.
