Entries for this year's competition should be on the theme of 'class'
Stories must be between 1,500 and 5,000 words.
There is a grand prize of £250. Entry is £10.
The Margaret and Reg Turnhill Prize offers £1,000 to the best story by a writer under the age of 21. Entry is free.
Wining stories will be published in the annual HG Wells Short Story Competition Anthology.
The closing date to enter the competition is 19 July.
