The theme for this year's contest is 'Breaking Point'

The competition, which takes its theme from Daphne du Maurier's short story collection Breaking Point, is for original, unpublished short stories up to 1,500 words.

There is a first prize of £200 and a runner-up prize of £100.

The entry fee is £10.

The closing date is 7 March.
