Win £100 first prizes in the open contests for poetry and short stories

The Westerwood Short Story Competition is inviting entries of original, unpublished short fiction between 2,000 and 3,000 words. The prizes are £100, £50 and £25, and the judge is Douglas Bruton.

The James Muir Poetry Competition is inviting entries of original, unpublished poems up to 40 lines. The prizes are £100, £50 and £25, and the judge is Gail Anderson.

The entry fee is £7 per poem or short story.

The closing date is 24 August.
