The Green Alphabet Writing Prize from Flipside Festival is for poetry and prose on a green theme
The competition is for poetry up to 40 lines and prose up to 500 words. To enter, chose any letter of the alphabet and use it in any way you like in a piece of writing that refers to the environment and how to care for it.
The judges are Jackie Kay, Jon Canter and Blake Morrison.
The first prize in the adult category is £500, with a Waterstones voucher for the runner up. In the under-16s category, the first prize is £200, and the runner-up prize is a Waterstones voucher.
The entry fee is £3 per piece for over 16s. Under 16s, entry is free.
The closing date is 31 July.
Flipside Festival takes place in Snape Maltings, 6-8 October, and Lowestoft, 24-26 October.
