Win a £1,000 first prize in the competition from Scottish Arts Trust
The Edinburgh Flash Fiction Award is an international competition for flash fiction on any subject, up to 250 words.
There is a first prize of £1,000, a second prize of £300 and a third prize of £150. There is also a £300 Golden Hare Award for Scottish Flash Fiction by the best flash fiction by a writer resident in Scotland. Winners will receive a year's free membership of Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh and be invited to the Flash Bash in February 2022, when the winners will be announced. The top twenty winners will be published in an anthology. The chief judges are Zoë Strachan and Louise Welsh.
All entries must be original and unpublished.
The entry fee is £6 per story.
The competition closes on 31 August 2021.
