The contest is for short fiction by writers from the African and African-Caribbean diaspora

The Blackink New Writing Competition from Black Arts and Heritage and Writing East Midlands is inviting creative writers from the African and African-Caribbean diaspora to submit short fiction up to 2,000 words.

The two winning stories will be published in BlackInk magazine for Black History month in October, and each winner will receive £500. Both winners will also get free entry to The Writers' Conference from Writing East Midlands. This year's judges are Rashida Seriki, Mike Gayle and Jacob Ross.

All entries must be original and unpublished.

Entry is free.

The closing date is 27 March.
