This year 's competition is for poetry, with a first prize of a writing course at Moniack Mhor or Arvon
The William Soutar Writing Prize is an annual competition run by Culture Perth and Kinross, and alternates between poetry and short stories.
There is a second prize of £100 book token, and a special prize of £50 for the best entry from a resident of Perth and Kinross.
Poems may be written in English or Scots, and are accepted from anywhere in the world. There are categories for poems in English and Gaelic by young poets aged 9-11 and 12-15
To enter, send up to two original, unpublished poems by the closing date of 1 February.
