Creative writing competition: The Solstice Prize 2022 for Young Writers

The contest is for nature-themed creative writing by young people aged 7-17

The Solstice Prize 2022 for Young Writers is being run by Writing East Midlands in partnership with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. Entries are invited of nature-themed short stories and poems on the theme by young writers.

This year's theme is 'Fight for Flight'. The age categories are 7-11, 12-14 and 15-17.

First-placed winners in each category will receive £100.Five highly commended writers per age category will receive goody bags and have their work published in an online anthology. There are also regional prizes for the best entries in each category by young writers living in the East Midlands. This year's judge is author Gill Lewis.
