Past winners of The Short Story Competition, which was set up in 2011, include Angela Readman, Zoe Gilbert, C.G. Menon and Naimh MacCabe.

Enter original, unpublished short stories between 1,000 and 5,000 words.

The first prize is £500 and the second prize is £100. The winning stories are published online.

The entry fee is £8. Each writer may enter only one story.

The closing date is 30 September.
