The prize, for novellas between 20,000 and 40,000 words, is £1,000 and publication by Sandstone Press
The runner-up will receive £500 and a reader's report.
Entries should be original, unpublished novellas between 20,000 and 40,000 words. All genres of fiction are accepted.
Now in its second year, the Novella Award is a partnership by the Screen School at Liverpool John Moores University and Manchester Metropolitan University.
The judge for this year's Novella Award will be award-winning author Alison Moore, author of The Lighthouse and He Wants.
The closing date is 5 June.
