The new biennial award offers $10,000 and simultaneous publication in three editions to the winner
The international prize is being run collaboratively by three publishers: Fitzcarraldo Editions in London, Giramondo in Australia and New Zealand and New York's New Directions. Fitzcarraldo will look at manuscripts from Africa and Europe. Writers in the Americas should submit to New Directions, and in Asia and Australasia, to Giramondo.
The competition is for innovative, imaginative unpublished novels which expand and explore the possibilities of the form. The winning writer will be awarded $10,000 and their book will be published simultanously in editions by each publisher.
Entry is free.
The closing date is 1 July.
