Creative writing competition: The Dinesh Allirajah Prize for Short Fiction 2020

The theme for this year's competition is 'Home'

The Dinesh Allirajah Prize for Short Fiction is awarded annually by Comma Press and the University of Central Lancashire in honour of author and creative writing lecturer Dinesh, who died in 2014 and was a founding board member and director of Comma Press.

The competition is for original, unpublished short fiction between 2,000 and 6,000 words on the theme of 'Home.' The winning writer will receive £500 and all ten shortlisted writers will be published in an ebook anthology. The winning story will also be published online by Northern Soul.

The competition is open to any writer based in the UK.

Entry is free. Each writer may submit one story.

The closing date is 23 October.
