The free-entry contest is for unpublished UK novelists from under-represented backgrounds
This year's contest is being held in association with Legend Press, and will be judged by Deepa Anappara. Eight winning writers will be selected to take part in a Zoom showcase with invited industry guests from the Book Edit's industry network. Winning writers will be given training on reading their work aloud before the showcase. An anthology of the readings will be published online.
To enter, submit the first 1,000 words of an unpublished novel manuscript, a synopsis up to 500 words and a brief account of your writing experience.
Entry is free.
The closing date is 23 October.
