The inaugural Saudi Historical Fiction Awards have been launched by the Historical Novel Society and the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives. The Awards will be offered every year for English-language historical fiction with Saudi settings.

• The Saudi Historical Novel Award is for original, unpublished novel manuscripts between 60,000 and 150,000 words. The winner will receive £10,000 and there are runners-up prizes of £3,000 and £2,000. The closing date is 1 July 2022.
