WriteStars' New Year competition invites the start of a story to hook readers in
Writers are asked to send the opening sentence - just the one! - of a story to mark the start of a new year for the New Beginnings competition.
There is a first prize of £100. The entry fee is £3.50, £1 of which goes to literacy charity Children in Crisis.
The closing date is 31 January.
