Win a £1,000 first prize in the competition for unpublished finished and part-finished manuscripts

This year's judge is literary agent Hellie Ogden of Janklow & Nesbit. The winner will receive £1,000 and a full manuscript request. The runner up will receive £500 and four shortlisted writers will each get £100. The top 20 entries will be published in a chapbook that is sent to literary agencies.

The competition is open to unpublished, self-published and unrepresented authors working on a novel for adult or young adult readers, in any genre. Works in progress are accepted but the finished novel must be at least 70,000 words with a projected completion date no longer than six months from the deadline.

To enter, send the first 3,000 words and a 300-word synopsis.

The entry fee is £20.
