Win a £1,000 prize for a story set in a randomly assigned period of history
The Globe Soup 2022 Historical Fiction Short Story Challenge is for original, unpublished short stories up to 4,000 words.
Each entrant will be randomly assigned a historical period on entering. Stories must be set in that period, and may use real or completely fictional characters and events. It is up to the writer how much the history influences the plot.
The winner will receive £1,000.

The entry fee is £12 for each story (early entry £2.50).
The closing date is 1 November.
