Creative writing competition: Doolin Writers' Competition

Doolin Writers' Weekend's international competition has categories for short stories, poetry and video poetry

There are first prizes of €1,000 in the short story and poetry competitions, and €500 in the video poetry competition. Runners up in each category will receive a weekend pass to the Doolin Writers' Weekend (25-27 January 2019) and a voucher for two nights bed, breakfast and evening meal at Hotel Doolin, in Country Clare on the west Coast of Ireland.

Short stories may be between 1,000 and 3,000 words. Poems may be up to 40 lines. Video poems may be up to five minutes, and may be taken on any device. All entries must be original and unpublished. The entry fee in each category. is €10.

The closing date is 1 December.
