Win prizes for short stories and poems on the theme of 'elements'
The international Biggar Science Festival Creative Writing Competition has taken 2019's status as International Year of the Periodic Table as the starting point to inspire a competition for elements-themed short stories and poems.
There are prizes of £40 and £20 in each category. Stories my be up to 1,000 words and poems up to 30 lines.
The entry fee is £5 for the first entry, £3 for the second and £2 for any subsequent entries.
The closing date is 31 August.
