This year's contest is on the theme of 'Time' and has increased cash prizes
The annual international Hammond House Literary Prize is sponsored by University Centre Grimsby, and this year has four categories.
• Poetry: Up to 40 lines. The prizes are £1,000, £50 and £25.
• Short story: Between 1,000 and 5,000 words. The prizes are £1,000, £100 and £50.
• Scriptwriting: Scripts for film, TV, radio or short film, up to 10 pages. The prize is £500.
• Songwriting: Lyrics or performed song. The prize is £500.
All entries should be original and unpublished, and on this year's 'Time' theme. The entry fee is £10 for one entry in a single category.
The closing date is 30 September.
