The winner of the best essay and short story will each win $100
The inaugural international competition from The Milkhouse is for writing connected in some way to 'the rural'.
Submissions may be fiction or non-fiction. Ten selected entries will be published in an ebook, and the writers of the best essay and short story will each receive $100.
All entries must be original and unpublished.
The entry fee is $5.
The closing date is 30 September.
