Enter short fiction with the beginning and ending lines provided from a classic work of literature

The international creative writing competition is for original, unpublished short fiction up to 2,500 words.

For the 2020 competition, writers may choose between the opening and closing lines of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (A squat grey building of only thirty-four stories. and South-south-west, south, south-east, east.) and Beloved by Toni Morrison (124 was spiteful. and Beloved.). Stories may be in any style, and any genre.

The winner will receive $500 and publication in a Literary Taxidermy anthology. Runners up will get $50 and publication.

The entry fee is $10 per story.

The closing date is 4 June 2020.
