The Royal Society of Literature Award is for proposals for work outside the usual scope of literature
The RSL Literature Matters Awards are annual awards that reward and enable literary innovation. A total of £20,000 is available, which will be split across a number of projects.
Priority is given to proposals that will help generate discussion about why literature matters and help audiences connect with topics outside the usual reach of literature. Projects may be a pieces or pieces of writing, a publication, an event or a production.
Writers applying for a Literature Matters Award should be based in the UK and have a track record of publication. Applications are also accepted from small groups of creative collaborators.
The closing date is 24 August.
