The Costa Short Story Award is calling for entries of unpublished short fiction up to 4,000 words
The winner will receive £3,500, the runner-up £1,500, and the third-placed entry, £500.
There is no fee for entry. All entries must be submitted through the website.
The closing date is 2 August.
The Costa Short Story Award, which ran for the first time last year and was won by Avril Joy with Millie and Bird, is run in association with the Costa Book Awards, but judged independently from the main five-category system. The inaugural Costa Short Story Award attracted 1,800 entries.
