Creative writing is invited for an anthology on the life and legacy of Prince
The call for submissions for the creative writing anthology is part of Purple Reign: an interdisciplinary conference on the life and legacy of Prince. The international conference wil take place between 24 and 26 May at Media City UK at the University of Salford, UK and is hosted by The School of Arts and Media Studies, University of Salford, UK and the Department of Recording Industry, Middle Tennessee State University, USA.
The call for submissions is for work that responds to Prince's legacy and meaning. Work in any genre will be considered, including, but not limited to, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, multimedia, hybrid, experimental and innovative texts. Send prose up to 3,000 words or up to 5 pages of poetry. Work may be an extract from a longer piece.
Selected writers will be asked to read their work live at Media City UK during the conference. Writers unable to attend the conference may submit to the anthology, which will be produced after the conference.
Send work (as Word docs or pfds) or expressions of interest by email to both Helen Pleasance and Ursula Hurley by 1 May.
