Mantle Lane Press is inviting gothic-tinted short fiction for an anthology of tales of mad love and terrible secrets
Submissions do not need to contain a reference to Jane Eyre (although they can!) but they must involve doomed love and/or dark secrets. Stories may be between 1,000 and 6,000 words. Ghosts and historical settings are welcome but not essential.All genres are accepted.
Stories should be original and preferably unpublished.
Payment is 1p per word up to a maximum of £50. Mrs Rochester's Attic will be published in print and as an ebook.
Mantle Lane Press is a small press based in Leicestershire. Earlier this year it published What Haunts the Heart, an anthology of stories of obsession, regret and fractured souls.
The closing date to submit to Mrs Rochester's Attic is 18 December.
