The annual Edinburgh University journal welcomes submissions from writers interested in the narrative of illness
The Lumen includes writing on the interfaces between medicine, the arts and the humanities. The theme of the second issue, which will be published in sumemr 2016, is trauma. Submissions are welcomed of new prose, poetry, essays, articles, reviews and artwork from healthcare professionals, patients, writers, artists, students and scholars.
Fiction and non-fiction may be up to 3,000 words. Poetry should be no longer than 70 lines. Reviews may be between 500-750 words (short) or 750-1,000 words (comparative).
The closing date is 4 December.
