Three emerging writers will be selected for the six-month fellowships, which include $1,000, publication, mentoring and an (optional) workspace in Brooklyn
Applications are encouraged by A Public Space literary magazine from writers from all over the world.
Writers applying for the APS 2016 Emerging Writer Fellowships should not yet have published, or been contracted to write, a book-length work, and would benefit from the time, space and editorial attention offered by the fellowships. Writers do not need to have publication credits in order to apply for a fellowship.
To apply, send a previously unpublished short story or essay and biographical information, and a paragraph about a place that has been important in your writing, which may be interpreted in any way. Also state whether you would want to take advantage of the residency at APS's offices in Brooklyn.
The fellowships will take place betwen March and September 2016.
There is no application fee. The closing date is 15 November.
