Short crime stories on the theme of escape are invited
The winner will recieve £1,000, a weekend pass for the Bloody Scotland festival of crime writing and a bottle of Deanston whisky.
'We are looking forward to seeing some fantastic entries from around the world, crime writing is a strong and innovative genre right now and Bloody Scotland has been lucky enough to attract the best international crime writers from around the globe,' said Bloody Scotland festival manager Dom Hastings. 'Now we want to celebrate the best new writing and help bring new voices to the fore.'
Stories for the Bloody Scotland writing competition may be up to 3,000 words and should be submitted online by 31 July. There is a £10 entry fee.
Bloody Scotland takes place in Stirling from 19 to 21 September.
