The new litfest includes appearances by Louis de Bernières, Tim Lott, Will Gompertz, Judith Allnatt, Sharon Bolton and Leigh Russell
The inaugural Buckingham Literary Festival will take place at the University of Buckingham from 1 to 3 July, featuring a line-up drawn from the worlds of literature, television, radio and journalism.
There are plenty of sessions to interest creative writers.
• Louis de Bernières will be launching his new book on poetry, Of Love and Desires, as well as discussing his most recent novel, The Dust that Falls from Dreams.
• Judith Allnatt will be talking about history as an inspiration, opportunity and challenge for the writer.
• Clinical psychologist Oliver James will discuss Upping Your Ziggy, his book about how David Bowie faced his demons.
• Tim Lott, who teaches on Faber's Academy's Writing a Novel course, will be talking about thrriller writing with Sharon Bolton and Rebecca Thornton.
• BBC arts editor Will Gompertz will discuss the art of creativity in Think Like an Artist.
There are also special sessions on Brit Noir Fiction and Historical Crime Fiction.
