The original idea came from grandchildren's drawings and stories I decided to have the book published to inspire them to continue to write creatively throughout their lives.
I live near the beach in Sunderland and a particularly beautiful small sandy bay is reached by steep steps called The cat and dog steps. This is where Stanley lives but he can fly off every day to wherever he wants to go
My love of this part of the northeast coast is reflected in the stories as well as my love of Sydney in Australia
