Stephanie has had nearly forty children’s books published, plus an historical novella for adults, since her first success in the 1980s. These have been published by such companies as Hamish Hamilton, Puffin, Andre Deutsch, Anglia Young Books, Poolbeg Press and Cambridge University Press.
She has written a number of educational resources for an educational publisher including three assembly books as well as several books for reluctant readers.
Stephanie visits schools to talk to children about writing, runs writing workshops, and has been a tutor for over ten years. She is also a trained proof-reader, and is a member of the Society of Authors and the Scattered Authors’ Society.
Her most recent works are a commissioned series of ten books about a mad chef called Mr Pattacake, and this publisher, Sweet Cherry Publishing, has commissioned a further series called The Dinosaur Detectives, which will also comprise a ten book box set.
Stephanie is, of course, an avid reader herself, preferring suspense and mystery stories, especially medical thrillers (since she used to be a nurse). She also enjoys playing the violin in several orchestras and groups and singing in two choirs.
Stephanie tutors the following courses: Writing for Children
I have been trying to write stories for years, and Stephanie Baudet is the first tutor I have had whose criticism is objective and really helpful; she does not beat about the bush like the others have done in the past; she can pinpoint the weaknesses precisely and her comments are like nuggets of gold. I am so fortunate to have found someone who knows how to criticize my work 'properly'; in other words, honestly.Felicity Tessaro - 01/02/2016
A few years ago I did a writing for children course and had Stephanie Baudet as a wonderful tutor. I now have two books on Amazon. Still can't thank her enough for her belief in me.Karen Lea, Staffordshire - 18/02/2016
Here is my final assignment, the last one of the second course extension. It's the Prologue to the story I've been working on since last summer. So now I have a first draft. I'm so glad I took this course, it's been a great help to me!Jannie Ireland, Chelmsford - 05/09/2016
