The Felixstowe Scribblers (based in Felixstowe, Suffolk) have a long history of supporting emerging writers.

We offer a space to try new things, encouraging people to stretch their writing muscles rather than feeling they have to bring their 'best' work each time. The result is that some members have been coming for decades but still manage to surprise with the talent and variety of their stories.

How meetings work

We each read a short story or extract of a longer piece we've written (1000 words max). These pieces can be on any topic, or there's a programme of suggested topics to help inspire you.

After each piece the other members will share what they loved about it and offer kind, constructive feedback on how the writer might take the piece to the next level.
