G’DAY is a collection of thirty short stories divided between ten themes. For each theme there is an accompanying recipe that relates to one of the stories.
When three writers got together during Covid 19 lockdown they never dreamed they would end up with enough material for a book. The idea was to take turns choosing a theme, which all three would take inspiration from and then write a story.
Ann and Lesley in England, and Jean in Australia, are all dedicated writers and keen cooks. Weeks went by, stories accumulated. They decided to turn the collection into a book.
G’DAY is a collection of thirty short stories divided between ten themes. For each theme there is an accompanying recipe that relates to one of the stories. So when Bernard is banished to the Australian outback and wants to go home he learns to love a Shearer’s Feast. Amateur sleuth Esther whips up microwave flapjacks so she can entertain her murder suspect and social climber Adele tries to bring a little class to a party with her home-made hummus.
There’s a little sci-fi, a little surrealism and a lot of humour. A companion for a journey, a gift for the person who has everything, or a cosy read during a lockdown afternoon, G’day is the perfect answer.
