The Tom McGrath Trust will award £2,000 for the best new project with writing at its heart from a Scottish creative

Offered in association with the Saltire Society, and in honour of playwright Tom McGrath, the 2016 Maverick Award will be given for a new, writing-based project that departs from routine and starts to explore new and imaginative territory.

Applicants should either be playwrights with a professional track record, or artists with a professional track record who are collaborating with other artists on a project with writing at its heart. All applicants should have been born in Scotland, or raised in Scotland, or resident in Scotland for at least four years.

Applicants for the 2016 Maverick Award should send information about their proposed idea with supporting material by the closing date of 3 October.
